MKOI defeat GAM Esports at EWC 2025 Group Stage to reach the Upper Bracket Final
The second match of the day in LoL EWC 2025 Group B was between MKOI and GAM Esports. The teams hadn’t faced each other before, and the Bo1 format was a tough challenge for both sides.

GAM Esports drafts:
GAM Esports started the game very aggressively, moving well around the map and finding good kills. But everything changed once MKOI began grouping up and forcing team fights. Their heavy crowd control and AoE damage consistently prevented GAM Esports from playing their own game. After a series of successful fights, Movistar KOI secured the win with a score of 14:7.
For me, the MVPs of this match were support Alvaro and jungler Elyoya, who did a lot during fights and really helped the team secure the victory. Their stats might not look flashy, but they were key to winning: Alvaro finished 0/1/10, Elyoya ended 0/0/12.
Thus, Movistar KOI advance to the Upper Bracket Final, where they will face Hanwha Life Esports in a match for a playoff spot. GAM Esports drop to the Lower Bracket, where they will play an elimination match against CTBC Flying Oyster.
League of Legends EWC 2025 takes place from July 16 to July 20, featuring 12 of the world’s top teams battling for the championship and a $2,000,000 USD prize pool. There will be numerous matches daily, so stay tuned for all the key esports news.
