Patch Notes 25.14: Release Date and Champion Changes

Riot Games have shared their plans for the upcoming patches following MSI 2025. Patch 25.14 is scheduled for release on July 16. The tournament so far has delivered some exciting games and is showcasing a generally healthy meta, though developers have noted some imbalances in team playstyles and a lack of AP junglers and assassins. Adding those is tricky right now due to the dominance of high-HP mid-laners, which risks bringing back Corki and Tristana mid.

In recent patches, Riot have been leaning heavily into buffs for champions and items, but they're shifting focus toward more nerfs now. Among system changes, they're removing the ability to stack two Haunting Guise items. It was originally left as a joke, but with the introduction of Bloodletters, the combo became too strong.

They’re also looking at buffs for Blade of the Ruined King, Kraken Slayer, and Phantom Dancer to make them more appealing choices. Yasuo will get a pre-emptive nerf given his popularity and the planned BORK buff. Rod of Ages will regain some power for its traditional mana-heavy mage users, while Guardian will get a small boost for enchanters without making it stronger for tanks.

Separately, Riot confirmed plans to tone down overly strong melee supports and some junglers across a few patches. Yuumi is also in line for a nerf due to high frustration levels among players (especially in China, where she’s the most-banned support in Emerald+).

Finally, Kled will receive updates after MSI. The goal is to make him feel better in fighter builds and remove problematic mechanics like instantly regaining health when remounting Skaarl.

Developers emphasize that these changes will be rolled out gradually and carefully to maintain meta stability and keep the game enjoyable for all roles.
