G2 Esports edge out FURIA in a tense battle at MSI 2025
LEC 2025 representatives G2 Esports faced off against LTA South’s FURIA in the Play-In Stage of MSI 2025. Both teams put on a real show for fans, taking the series all the way to five maps.
But the decisive fifth game was one-sided. Caps, playing Yone, ran rampant across the map, shutting down any response from FURIA. The map ended with a crushing 20–3 scoreline.
With this win, G2 Esports move on to Play-In Stage Round 2, where they’ll face Bilibili Gaming on June 29 at 03:00 EEST.
FURIA drop to the lower bracket, where they’ll take on GAM Esports. The loser of that series will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winner will have one last shot at qualifying for the Bracket Stage.
The Mid-Season Invitational 2025 runs from June 27 to July 13. Teams are fighting not just for the MSI 2025 title and the $2,000,000 USD prize pool, but for the biggest reward of all: a spot at the World Championship 2025. Don’t miss these thrilling matches—may the team you’re cheering for come out on top!
