The top laner of T1, Zeus, is leaving the roster
Today, T1 officially announced that their top laner, Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, is departing the team. This decision marks an important milestone both for the player and the organization with which he achieved incredible heights.
Zeus joined T1’s main roster in 2022, taking over the position after Kim "Canna" Chang-dong’s departure. From the very start, he proved himself as a talented and ambitious player. In his first season, during the 2022 LCK Spring Split, the team achieved a historic 18–0 record in the regular season — a feat that will forever be remembered in the league's history.
Achievements with T1
Throughout his career with T1, Zeus earned numerous titles and became a key figure for the team. Among his achievements:
- LCK Spring 2022 Champion: T1, under his leadership on the top lane, won the finals with a confident 3–1 victory over Gen.G.
- MSI 2022 Finalist: Zeus helped T1 reach the finals of the Mid-Season Invitational, where they secured second place after falling to Royal Never Give Up.
- Two-time League of Legends World Champion (2023 and 2024): In 2023, Zeus was named the MVP of the finals, where T1 defeated Weibo Gaming 3–0. In 2024, the team lifted the trophy once again, overcoming Bilibili Gaming in a close 3–2 victory.
Additionally, Zeus contributed significantly to the international success of the team and the entire Korean esports scene. As part of the South Korean national team, he won a gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games.
T1 expressed their gratitude to Zeus for his years of hard work and incredible achievements, wishing him the best in his future career.
The new T1 top laner, Doran
To replace Zeus, T1 has added former Hanwha Life Esports player Choi “ Doran ” Hyeon-joon to their roster. Doran is a renowned player with a unique playstyle. Both fans and the organization are eagerly anticipating how he will perform with the legendary T1 team.
Will T1, now with Doran, claim their sixth World Championship title? Only time will tell.
