Loopy is the new support for SK Gaming in the LEC
Isurus Gaming player Kim "Loopy" Dong-hyeon will play as a stand-in for the German team SK Gaming in the LEC, replacing Lee "Luon" Hyun-ho. Loopy will strengthen the club's bot lane alongside Cho "Rahel" Min-seong, his former teammate from Dplus KIA Challengers.
Loopy and Rahel played together in the LCK CL Spring 2023 tournament, where they secured a victory against DRX Challengers, finishing in first place. Their next tournament together was the LCK CL Spring 2024, where they lost in the finals to KT Rolster Challengers with a score of 1:3.
Earlier this year, Loopy decided to leave South Korea, likely due to limited opportunities in the league, and transitioned to play in the second split of Liga Latinoamérica with Isurus Gaming. He helped the team achieve a strong third-place finish, losing in the semifinals to Infinity with a score of 2:3.
Expected roster for SK Gaming in the LEC for 2025:
- Top: Janik "JNX" Bartels
- Jungle: Ismaïl "Isma" Boualem
- Mid: Steven "Reeker" Chen
- ADC: Cho "Rahel" Min-seong
- Support: Kim "Loopy" Dong-hyeon
After several years in the LCK Academy/Challengers and a split in the LLA, Loopy is now joining a Tier 1. Will Loopy be able to establish himself on the professional scene? We will find out soon at the upcoming LEC Winter Split 2025 tournament. You can check the tournament format via the link.
