Yesterday, the first match of the lower bracket of the main tournament of Europe in League of Legends LEC Summer 2022 between Excel and Fnatic took place, according to the results of which FNC won with a score of 3-2, and XL did not finish quite a bit, which is why they are now forced to leave the tournament.

XL started this meeting with two wins in a row, which made many doubt FNC. But the more experienced team, on the verge of defeat in the third game, managed to make a strong-willed comeback and, with no less interesting and protracted 4th and 5th games, win.

Now Fnatic are going further in the lower bracket of the tournament, where they will meet with Misfits Gaming in 4 days, on September 2.

Quick game review

The 1st map went "classically" for Excel, in which they bogged down two early dragons, and in the 31st minute they managed to take away Baron Nashor from the opponent and go for a heavy push. In many ways, the victory was facilitated by a combination from the ADK botlane Patrick on Nilah and Mikyx on Yummi, who gave us a couple of beautiful moments at the end.

The 2nd game can hardly be called even, since the entire initial initiative, as well as the first three dragons, was taken over by XL. From a position of slight dominance, they managed to capture the soul of the fire dragon in a close fight, which was a turning point and allowed them to push FNC. In this game, Finn on Kled, who turned out to be a very successful pick, and Markoon on Sejuani, especially excelled.

Game 3 was perhaps the most interesting, both in terms of macro play and the personal performance of many players. A 45-minute game where XL took a risk and failed to finish, for which they were punished by FNC, taking the elder dragon. Throughout the whole time there were “swings”, which kept a strong tension. But Razork, on his Poppy, unthinkably survived and brought a ton of impact to the game.

On the 4th map, the FNC jungler Razork shone again, becoming "the hero of this series for his team." In a fairly balanced confrontation, he focused well on the objects and at the key moment, in the 31st minute, stole Baron Nashor through Flash, which turned the whole game in FNC's favor.

By the 5th and final game of this Bo5 series, XL seems to have lost strength and morale due to two defeats in a row. But FNC, on the contrary, played the map in high spirits and showed why they are considered one of the best teams in Europe. Again gave Poppy to Razork, who took 4 out of 5 dragons for his team and showed great pressure all over the map. However, in the last game, absolutely all members of the Fnatic team were in good shape.
