Don't miss the start of the Mid-Season Invitational 2022

In just a few hours, the Mid-Season Invitational 2022, the first major League of Legends championship of the new season, will start. Until May 29, the best teams in the world will compete for a prize pool of $250,000. We offer to get acquainted with the format of the event, the participants and the distribution of the prize fund of the championship.

Format of the Mid-Season Invitational 2022

The championship will be divided into three stages:

  • Group stage: May 10-15.
  • Round robin: May 20-24.
  • Playoffs: May 27-29.

All eleven participants of the championship are divided into three groups. Note that due to coronavirus restrictions, the representative of China will perform at the championship in an online format, which is why the organizers will set the servers to a single delay of 35 m/s.

Group A:

  • DetonatioN FocusMe (Japan).
  • Saigon Buffalo (Vietnam).
  • T1 (South Korea).
  • Team Aze (Latin America).

Group B:

  • PSG Talon (Southeast Asia).
  • RED Canids (Brazil).
  • Royal Never Give Up (China).
  • İstanbul Wildcats (Turkey).

Group C:

  • Evil Geniuses (North America).
  • G2 Esports (Europe).
  • ORDER (Oceania).

The top two teams from each group will advance from the group stage to the next stage of the competition. Here they will form a separate sextet in which they will play a double round robin format. The four best teams will advance to the playoffs of the Mid-Season Invitational 2022, which will form semi-final pairs, and, consequently, will determine the winner of the championship.

Prize pool distribution

  • 1st place: $75,000
  • 2nd place: $50,000
  • 3rd-4th place: $25,000.
  • 5th place: $17,500
  • 6th place: $17,500
  • 7th-9th place: $8,325
  • 10th-11th place: $5,000.
