UCAM Tokiers change jungler during Superliga
lieTwo days earlier, we learned about the departure of Mehdi "Boukada" Lahlou from the position of a jungler in the UCAM Tokiers League of Legends team, and today there was information that another Frenchman - Cantoursna "Nji" An.
The organization itself announced this by making a series of posts on Twitter. The first of the posts was the news about the departure of Boukada. UCAM explained this by the fact that for their new Superliga roster, a difficult moment had come and the results were not at all what was expected. Not surprising, after six defeats in a row and becoming an outsider of the tournament.
“We think it was the right decision to reinforce the position in the jungle with someone with more experience.
Since the start of the season, the team has found a recurring problem with the need to lead the game with more authority. In this sense, we are working to replace the position and thus turn the tide in sports.”
The player himself also made a post a little later, where he outlined his vision of the situation:
“I was told yesterday morning that the team had to make the difficult choice of replacing me as jungler for the remainder of the tournament.
It went like this: on Thursday (2 days ago) my team congratulated me on my performance, and the next day I find out that I am on the bench and none of my teammates know about it/have no opportunity to discuss it.
This seems really unfair as I have never been pressured and I have never received any warnings. We were always told that everything was fine, that we were improving and that our work was worth it in the end.”
But today we already know that it is Nji who will take on the role of the jungler until the end of the Superliga. This was announced today on Twitter, as promised, by UCAM Tokiers.
Nji actually has a lot more experience in the professional League of Legends scene. Although he, like Boukada, also came from the French region, however, the teams in which he was a member and the results were a level higher. The player represented such teams as ROG Esports, Fnatic Rising, Vitality Bee, Team Vitality and Giants, consistently occupying at least the top 5 in local tournaments.
Personally, I'm not sure how good a decision it would be to replace one of the players in the middle of the tournament. We will see how the results of their performance will change very soon.
