Biography Lil
Ilya «Lil» Ilyuk is a professional Dota 2 player of Ukrainian descent. Lil is one of the most famous representatives of the CIS region both in gaming and media terms. The player has managed to play for almost all top teams of the region in his career and demonstrated his skill a number of times. We present to your attention Lil’s road to becoming an esportsman.
The beginning of the career
Like the majority of esportsmen, Lil had started his road to the scene way before the arrival to a professional organization. Since the early years, Lil has been fond of video games, mainly the competitive ones. It brought its results and helped him to build a successful career as a player.
The team NVMI was the first club Lil was playing for. Lil played for it in September 2014, after which the roster was almost immediately signed by Virtus.Pro and was called Virtus.pro Polar.
VP.Polar, ASUS.Polar, Virtus.pro
Lil with VP.Polar took part in the various small championships, frequently demonstrating good results. In January 2015, second place at StarLadder StarSeries Season 11 was one of them. Virtus.pro Polar became the autonomous team of ASUS.Polar that month.
The team qualified for ESL One Frankfurt и DreamLeague Season 3 in April. Such results helped ASUS.Polar to become the main roster of Virtus.Pro.
With VP, Lil achieved first place at ASUS Play It Cool Dota 2 Invitational, fifth-sixth at joinDOTA MLG Pro League Season 2. But it was just the beginning.
The team achieved victory at DreamLeague Season 3 in June, after which placed 3rd-4th at ESL One Frankfurt 2015. The team held first place at Esportal Dota 2 League and third place at Dota Pit League Season 3 in July.
In August, Lil made his debut at the main Dota 2 tournament – The International 2015. The team placed 5th-6th sensationally there, which was a very great success.
VP’s results became worse later, however, everything changed in 2016.
The era of VP
The roster of VP was reloaded in 2016 but Lil was still the important piece of the new team.
The roster started gaining momentum in 2016. The team prevailed at BTS Europe #4, passed the qualifiers for The Summit 6, Dota Pit League Season 5, and Esl One Genting 2017. The team placed second at DreamLeague Season 6 League Play and first at The Summit 6 in November 2016.
The team held a 5th-8th place at the first Major tournament, The Boston Major 2016.
The team held a 3rd-4th place at ESL One Genting 2017 and a 5th-6th place at Dota Pit League Season 5 in January 2017.
In April, VP stopped one step away from a victory at The Kiev Major 2017. The team achieved victory at Mr.Cat Invitational Europe in May, placed 4th at DreamLeague Season 7 EU Division, and held first place at Russian Esports Cup 2017.
The team placed 5th-6th at the domestic championship EPICENTER 2017, after which rehabilitated at DOTA Summit 7. The team was going to the upcoming TI 2017 well-prepared. Lil repeated the result of 2015 at TI7, having placed 5th-6th. The team continued performing on the first level after TI.
The team won ESL One Hamburg 2017 in October 2017, however, it was the last tournament, at which Lil prevailed on the roster of VP.
Lil left VP with a scandal and transferred to NaVi in January 2018.
Trying to find himself
The performance in NaVi can hardly be called successful. Lil with the team made it to Major tournaments but the results were not that good there, to say the least. The best performance was in Bucharest in 2018 where the team held 9th-11th place. Having failed at all championships, Lil as a NaVi captain, came to the TI qualifiers, which he failed fully and was eliminated, placing 5th-8th in the open qualifiers.
Odium was the next club for Lil. Having founded his own club, Lil spent a month there, after which he moved to Flying Penguins where he also did not last more than three days.
Lil moved to Winstrike Team in May 2019. The player spent 5 months there and StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 2 can be called the most successful tournament where the team held 7th-8th place.
Lil became a player of Aggressive Mode later. The 5th-6th position at WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon was the best result of the performance in AM.
The past thirst for the game returned after his play for VP.Prodigy. Then, Lil managed to advance to the final of OGA Dota PIT S3: Europe/CIS.
Lil became a player of HellRaisers in September 2020. With HR, he placed 5th-6th at BTS Pro Series Season 3: Europe/CIS and also 12th-14th at ESL One Germany 2020.
