Biography Handsken
Simon «Handsken» Haag is a professional Dota 2 player of Swedish descent. In his career, Handsken managed to play for prestigious organizations, in which he proved his ability to compete with the best players in the world on the same level.
The beginning of the career
Like the majority of esportsmen, Handsken started his career way before his arrival at a professional organization. Since his early years, Simon has been spending a lot of time playing video games, which helped him to build a successful career as a result.
The first club Handsken was playing for was LAJONS. Handsken was playing for it from November 2014 to January 2015. During this period, Handsken managed to participate in small championships, which gave him a competitive experience for further achievements.
The team Ninjas in Pyjamas was the next club for Handsken. The team was looking for its play for the first couple of months, which resulted in the victory at joinDOTA MLG Pro League Season 2. However, this victory was the last one for Handsken on the roster of NiP and the player moved to compLexity Gaming in November 2015.
Things went a bit better with CoL. The team held the first place at Dota 2 Canada Cup Season 2 in February 2016 and the player made a debut at his first Major tournament a month later. In March, the team performed at The Shanghai Major 2016 where it placed 5th-6th, which can’t be called a bad result. However, it was not enough to save the roster and Handsken became a player of Alliance in September 2016.
Handsken was not able to qualify for the main tournament of the year, The International, with Alliance. However, he with the team managed to prove themselves at the lower-level championships. In January 2017, the team held the 3rd place at World Electronic Sports Games 2016 and the team placed first at The Final Season 1 in July 2017.
Handsken left the roster in August 2017.
Finding himself
After the departure from Alliance, Handsken had a period of searching for a team. He made the first try in September 2017, having become a member of the team No Diggity. However, the player stayed there only for three weeks. In October 2017, Handsken moved to The Final Tribe where he played for almost two years. But this time brought nothing to Handsken. The second place in the European qualifiers for The International 2019 was the biggest victory for The Final Tribe.
Handsken became a player of GODSENT in September 2019 but he became a player of Alliance again that month.
Alliance and personal achievements
In October 2019, Handsken became a player of Alliance again. His second coming to the club marked the beginning of new achievements. The updated Alliance managed to take its slot among the best European teams.
Handsken with Alliance won DreamLeague Season 12 in October 2019 and finished fourth at ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore three months later.
With the team, Handsken held the 4th place at DreamLeague Season 13, which became one of the most important victories in the player’s career. The team placed second at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 in March 2020. With esports going online, Handsken and the team did not lose their shape. The team held the 2nd place at ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Europe & CIS, the 2nd place at OGA Dota PIT S2: Europe/CIS in July, the 4th place at OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division, and the 3rd place at OGA Dota PIT S3: Europe/CIS in September.
Handsken has already earned more than 296,000 dollars of prize money in his career.
