What do professional players think of the current Dota Pro Circuit system? - Puppey thinks she is very tough
Ihor MatusDreamHack interviewed Estonian esports player Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov. The latter shared his thoughts on the current Dota Pro Circuit system and shared his impressions of the recently introduced Aghhanim's Shard artifact.
Clement said that after the cancellation of The International 2020, teams have lost motivation to play in some tournaments, and the Dota Pro Circuit rules are quite strict for teams, in particular those that could not get into the first DPC 2021 season.
Puppey said the following:
“With the transition to the online scene, it seems that the tournaments have lost some purpose - becoming a champion, you will not go to LAN, you will not qualify for The International.
It gets boring over time. Of course, it's good that we can collectively host a major tournament, but it's not the same. We didn't know if The International would be.
Also, the current DPC system is very harsh in my opinion, especially for those who are not yet in the competition. Teams are required to achieve the best results in two leagues. There will be no second chances. "
Clement Ivanov said that, in his opinion, Aghanim's Shard does not provide any big bonuses, and the mechanics itself is quite simple, which is generally good:
“I love the idea of Aghanim's Shard. What this item gives could be a hero talent. In that sense, Shard is another way to get new talent.
It doesn't provide any incredible bonuses. It's a simple mechanic, and the more difficult the game, the fewer people play it, which means we're in the black. "
