Talon Esports sweep HEROIC 2–0 at Esports World Cup 2025 (BO3)
SEA powerhouse Talon Esports overpowered South American squad HEROIC with a 2–0 sweep in their opening round matchup at the Esports World Cup 2025 playoffs.
The first map ran long but was firmly in Talon’s control. 23savage led the charge with clean farming and excellent positioning, while Mikoto shredded through HEROIC in every fight. HEROIC tried to stall with split pushes and skirmishes, but Ws and Kuku locked down the lanes and objectives. Talon stayed sharp through the 54-minute clash and closed it out 52–25.
Map two was all Talon from the start. Mikoto once again showed his class in mid, while 23savage continued his flawless form. HEROIC looked out of sync, with their supports getting picked off early and often. Kuku’s vision game and Ws’s frontline dominance left no room for a comeback. The SEA squad wrapped up the series in 34 minutes with a clean 33–18 win.
Talon now advance to the quarterfinals, where they’ll take on Tundra Esports on Sunday, July 13 at 7:00 PM. HEROIC exit the Esports World Cup after a rough showing, falling short of top-eight contention. Other quarterfinal matches include Gaimin Gladiators vs. Team Yandex and Natus Vincere vs. Team Falcons, setting up a high-stakes playoff weekend.
Esports World Cup 2025 is taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bringing together elite teams from around the globe for a multi-million dollar prize pool. With international prestige and qualification to The International 2025 on the line, the stakes couldn’t be higher for every squad in attendance.
