Don't miss the start of Dota 2 Champions League Season 12

Today, June 13, Dota 2 Champions League Season 12 will start. As part of the online championship, which will last until July 10, 18 teams from Europe and the CIS will compete for a prize pool of $50,000. We offer to get acquainted with the format of the tournament, the participants and the distribution of the prize fund of the tournament.

Dota 2 Champions League Season 12 format

The championship will be divided into three stages:

  • Group stage: June 13-30.
  • Playoffs: July 4-10.

As part of the group stage, fourteen participants are divided into two equal groups (seven teams each). Four teams from each group will advance to the Dota 2 Champions League Season 12 playoffs: the top two will advance to the quarterfinals; 3rd and 4th places - to the first round of the lower bracket. The remaining participants will leave the championship. All matches of the group stage of the tournament will be held in the BO3 format in a round robin system.

Group A:

  • 11Monkeyz, HF, HYDRA, Luna Gaming, SURIM PRASAD, X3 and FERZI.

Group B:

  • cybercats, EU Rejects, KBU.US, KEKWait, Ooredoo Thunders, Team Empire and YNT.

Eight best teams of the group stage will meet with four invited teams. Their names will be known closer to the start of the Dota 2 Champions League Season 12 playoffs.

Prize pool distribution for Dota 2 Champions League Season 12

  • 1st place: $20,000.
  • 2nd place: $10,000.
  • 3rd place: $7,000
  • 4th place: $3,500
  • 5th-6th place: $2,500
  • 7th-8th place: $1,250.
  • 9th-12th place: $500.
  • 13th-14th place: TBD.
  • 15th-16th place: TBD.
  • 17th-18th place: TBD.
