The preview of ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019
The general information
ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019 will be hosted on January 25-27. As usual, the venue of the event by ELEAGUE will be their arena in Atlanta, the USA. The prize pool of the tournament will amount $150,000 and there is no information about the distribution of grabs at the moment. Four invited teams will take part in the distribution of the pool.
FaZe Clan — the odds on a victory: 1.75
(a place in the rate by HLTV — #7)
According to bookmaker companies, FaZe Clan is the main favorite of the tournament. In our view, it’s difficult to determine one favorite at this championship. Both FaZe and BIG have a chance to win.
FaZe recently hired AdreN to its team at the time of iBUYPOWER Masters IV and ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019. The performance was failed at the first tournament and FaZe were not able to show a decent result. Maybe, the Europeans had a lack of time to start playing together in an appropriate way but we don’t think that they will manage to prepare for ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019 in a decent way in a few days. The only thing that might benefit FaZe is a couple of relatively weak opponents and a small number of participants of the tournament. We hope to see this team in the final of the event in the first place because FaZe players’ individual skill is the highest.
It’s not worth to forget that the esportsman who have placed third on the list of the top 20 players of 2018 by HLTV, Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovac plays on the roster.
The roster of FaZe Clan and the players’ rate:
Havard ‘rain’ Nygaard — 0.98
Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovac — 1.18
Ladislav ‘GuardiaN’ Kovacs — 1.06
Olof ‘olofmeister’ Kajbjer — 0.97
Dauren 'AdreN' Kystaubayev — 1.07
Janko ‘YNk’ Paunovic — a coach
BIG — the odds on a victory: 3
(a place in the rate by HLTV — #12)
It’s difficult enough to talk about BIG’s gaming shape. Their last official match was hosted against the Australians from Renegades at ESL Pro League Season 8 - Finals on December 5. The match had been over with a loss for BIG and the roster was changed later. Now, the key player of ex-Space Soldiers, XANTARES came to the team instead of Johannes ‘nex’ Maget. There is no information about if he has fitted the team or not now. The tournament will show what the renewed roster of BIG can show. Its results might be both suddenly amazing or disappointing. We think that that the team has a good chance to advance to the final but they are unlikely to become the winners of the tournament because they have such serious opponent as FaZe Clan.
The roster of BIG and the players’ rate:
Fatih ‘gob b’ Dayik — 0.85
Johannes ‘tabseN’ Wodarz — 1.18
Tizian ‘tiziaN’ Delfbusch — 0.91
Owen ‘smooya’ Butterfield — 0.99
Ismailcan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş — 1.27
Nikola ‘LEGIJA’ Ninic — a coach
Cloud9 — the odds on a victory: 6
(a place in the rate by HLTV — #15)
Cloud9 has recently made a replacement on the roster: the ex-player of Swole Patrol, Jordan ‘Zellsis’ Montemurro has come on a trial period instead of departed Maikil ‘Golden’ Selim. C9 performed at the recently finished iBUYPOWER Masters IV unsuccessfully enough, however, they were close to advancement to the playoffs. They might have better luck at the upcoming ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019 and it’s possible that they might make it to the final, however, they will have to work hard to do so because there are such serious opponents as FaZe Clan and BIG. We think that the team will hold third place.
The roster of Cloud9 and the players’ rate:
Timothy ‘autimatic’ Ta — 1.05
Will ‘RUSH’ Wierzba — 0.97
Robin ‘flusha’ Ronnquist — 1.05
Fabien ‘kioShiMa’ Fiey — 0.98
Jordan ‘Zellsis’ Montemurro (trial) — 1.09
Soham ‘valens’ Chowdhury (trial) — a coach
compLexity Gaming — the odds on a victory: 10
(a place in the rate by HLTV — #30)
At the end of the last year, compLexity Gaming completed its roster with the fifth Australian esportsman, Rickeh. The debut at iBUYPOWER Masters IV was very unfortunate. The team held the last place and was the first to be eliminated from the competition. We doubt that it managed to gain a good gaming shape in such a short time and will show good results. Our opinion about coL is the following: the Americans will hold the last place at the championship again. The doubts about this will disappear after you pay your attention to the list of participants: C9, BIG, and FaZe Clan are stronger than compLexity and are way higher in the rate. Unexpected things might happen there but we think that events at the tournament will happen in an enough predictable way:
The roster of compLexity Gaming and the players’ rate:
Rory ‘dephh’ Jackson — 0.98
Peter ‘stanislaw’ Jarguz — 1.05
Shahzeeb ‘ShahZaM’ Khan — 1.04
Ricardo ‘Rickeh’ Mulholland — 1.07
Jordan ‘n0thing’ Gilbert (a stand-in) — 1.04
According to our prediction, ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019 might finish in the following way:
1st place — BIG
2nd place — FaZe Clan
3rd place — Cloud9
4th place — compLexity Gaming
