The long-awaited opening of Group D took place, within which the games of the first round of ESL Pro League Season 14 took place. After the first game day, three teams at once identified themselves as the leaders of the tournament table. But the fate of the remaining three teams has not yet been decided.

Gambit - Team One

The right to open the game day, and at the same time the battles in the group, was given to the finalist of the 13th season of the EPL. Gambit began to conduct an open lesson for the Brazilians from Team One, who, even before the start of the championship, were considered the main outsiders of their group.

However, the starting segment on the Mirage map was left to Team One, which, even before the change of sides, could ascertain the defeat. But the Russian team once again showed character, making a good comeback to level the gap to one round. In the second half, the advantage instantly fell into the hands of Gambit, until the team hung by a thread from defeat, losing a series of rounds to the Brazilians. Nevertheless, the Russian team showed their character again, having managed to make a comeback and prevent a misfire - 16:14.

Ancient's map, as expected, proceeded without much intrigue, since the Brazilians could not oppose anything to the attack of the favorite, having won only six rounds before the changeover. Obviously, this was not enough to compete with the defense of Gambit, which was unquestioning today - 16: 6.

FURIA - Entropiq

The brave guys from FURIA, who missed the player in the championship, were forced to put the guerri behind the keyboard. However, we must admit that on Overpass, the 31-year-old looked great considering the rest of the team's play. So the first half remained with the Brazilian team, which at some point could even smash Entropiq. Nevertheless, the Russian team did not give up, quickly leveling the difference. And the ending of the map remained with NickelBack and the company, which turned out to be a little luckier in the decisive round - 16:14.

The second map began with the total domination of the Russian team, which showed an excellent defense on Ancient, winning twelve rounds before switching sides. However, Entropiq did not go well in attack for a long time, as a result of which the Brazilians were slowly closing the difference in the score. Nevertheless, the Russian team managed to put the squeeze on the opponent, earning the first victory in the championship - 16:13.

NiP - Liquid

In the evening, the most interesting meeting of the first round took place - NiP against Liquid. However, already at the start of the match, it turned out that there could be no struggle. The thing is that the Swedes played too much, forgetting to prepare for the opponent. All this resulted in a painful defeat in defense on Inferno, after which NiP was no longer able to recover in the attack, naturally giving the victory to the North American team - 16: 9.

Dust 2 started out in a similar style, though now the guys from Liquid were playing defense. However, this did not stop the Swedes from winning just three rounds before the side switching, practically losing their chances of winning. We have to give credit to NiP, who bothered to show a bit of the fight by making a comeback. Nevertheless, the "liquid" had enough earned advantage to record the final victory - 16:10.

Group D table

A place Command Result Rounds Round difference Points
1 Team Liquid 1-0 32-19 +13 3
2 Gambit Esports 1-0 32-20 +12 3
3 Entropiq 1-0 32-27 +5 3
4 FURIA Esports 0-1 27-32 -5 0
5 Team One 0-1 20-32 -12 0
6 Ninjas in Pajamas 0-1 19-32 -13 0

Today, September 2, three interesting meetings will take place. The Brazilian derby - FURIA vs Team One will open the game day. Next we have to look at the next toughness test for Entropiq, which will play against NiP. Well, in the evening you should postpone all your affairs to watch the match Gambit - Liquid.
