IEM Cologne 2021: Virtus.pro became the fifth participant in the playoffs
The final of the lower bracket in Group A has come to its logical conclusion. The participants of the meeting showed a real master class on how to have willpower and desire to win. The teams played on Dust 2 and Inferno and reached a series of additional rounds on both maps. On Dust 2, the battle ended with a score of 19-15 in favor of Virtus.pro, while on Inferno VP they became the winners with a score of 19-16.
Virtus.pro became the fifth participant in the playoff stage. Earlier, G2 Esports and Gambit Esports got there from Group A, and in Group B the places in the final stage were secured by NAVI and Astralis.
Right now, Gambit Esports and G2 Esports are fighting for a place in the semifinals in the upper bracket. The winner will be the first to enter the semi-final in the playoffs, while the losing team will begin their march to victory in the quarterfinals.
Earlier today, two matches took place in the lower bracket of Group B. According to their results, FURIA Esports and Team Vitality completed their path in the championship and took 9-12 places. They, just like Team Liquid and NiP, received $ 16,000 each.
