
FaZe defeated MOUZ and advanced to the semifinals of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025
FaZe Clan sensationally knocked MOUZ out of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 playoffs, securing a confident series victory and overturning the pre-match favorite status. karrigan’s squad showed great composure in the key moments on Nuke and complete dominance on Inferno, booking their spot in the tournament semifinals with a $500,000 prize pool.
Nuke (13:11 FaZe)
Nuke started with total control from FaZe on the T side. Their rounds were well-structured and executed with minimal mistakes. In the second half, MOUZ managed to seize the initiative, putting together an incredible run of eight consecutive rounds on the T side to take an 11:9 lead. Despite this, FaZe were able to slow down MOUZ’s aggressive pace and close out Nuke with a narrow 13:11 victory.
Inferno (13:2 FaZe)
On Inferno, FaZe impressed once again. In the first half, they displayed a very solid defense. Even when MOUZ managed to enter the site and plant the bomb, FaZe consistently won clutch situations and defused it. The first half ended in a convincing 10:2 scoreline in favor of FaZe. The second half was short-lived, as FaZe switched to the T side and closed out Inferno without any trouble, 13:2.
Match MVP
Almost all FaZe players finished the match with a positive rating, but the highest rating of 1.62 was achieved by broky. Thanks to his strong AWP performance, he frequently delivered crucial kills in key rounds.
MOUZ entered the match as clear favorites but were unable to overcome FaZe, exiting the tournament in 5th–8th place with $45,000 in prize money. This result once again shows that no opponent should be underestimated, even when playing as the favorite. FaZe, meanwhile, created a minor upset and advanced to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the NAVI vs FURIA matchup. The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 playoffs take place from December 11 to 14, with the champion set to claim $500,000 and the Major title.
