Liquid defeat Legacy in their opening match at PGL Masters Bucharest 2025

Team Liquid began their PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 campaign with a 2–1 victory over Legacy (11:13, 13:7, 13:9). Despite a shaky start on Mirage, the North American squad managed to take control on the following two maps, with NertZ emerging as the hero of the match thanks to his 1.3 rating and several clutch rounds that secured the win.

Mirage (13:11 Legacy)

Liquid picked Mirage as their map. The first half was fairly even, with both sides showing strong gameplay and ending 6:6. In the second half, Legacy imposed their attacking style and gained the upper hand. Although Liquid were close to forcing overtime, Legacy managed to take the final crucial round and closed the map 13:11.

Inferno (7:13 Liquid)

On their opponent’s pick, Liquid dominated from the very first rounds, taking the first half 10:2. Legacy tried to disrupt their rhythm, but without success. Liquid comfortably closed the map 13:7.

Nuke (9:13 Liquid)

On the deciding map, Nuke, Liquid opened with a confident attack, securing a 7:5 lead in the first half. After switching sides, Legacy fought hard to grab several key rounds on defense, but Liquid kept control and finished the map 13:9 to claim the series.

Match MVP

The best player of the series was NertZ, who delivered an impressive Swing +2.95% and a 1.3 rating. His clutch performances in several decisive rounds played a crucial role in Liquid’s overall victory.

Despite being one of the tournament favorites, Legacy start their run with a loss and drop to the 0–1 bracket, while Liquid secure a key win to move into the 1–0 pool. PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 takes place from October 26 to November 1, featuring a total prize pool of $625,000, with $200,000 going to the winning team and another $200,000 to their organization.
