Vitality edge past The MongolZ 2-1 in IEM Dallas upper final — bLitz steals the spotlight
Vitality survived a tough upper bracket final in Group A at IEM Dallas 2025, taking down The MongolZ 2-1 in a closely contested BO3. The map scores were 13-10 on Inferno, 7-13 on Nuke, and 13-11 on Mirage. While the world #1 squad moves directly to the semi-finals, The MongolZ are sent to the quarter-finals with a very real shot at revenge later in the bracket.
Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren was named MVP of the match, topping the server with a 1.28 rating across the series. Despite the loss, his performance, especially on Nuke, was a huge part of why Vitality didn’t run away with the match. The MongolZ can hold their heads high: taking a map off the tournament favourites is already a statement, and their path through the playoffs might just bring them face-to-face with Vitality again.

The MongolZ showed flashes of brilliance throughout the match — mzinho pulled off multiple clutch plays, and 910 delivered solid firepower across all maps. Mirage could’ve gone either way, and with more consistency in the late game, this squad looks primed for another deep run. If they meet Vitality again, it won’t be an easy rematch for the French side.
