Vitality Beat Legacy 2-0 at IEM Dallas, But Brazil's Underdogs Left a Mark
Vitality did what they were supposed to do—they came into IEM Dallas 2025 as favorites, played sharp CS, and walked out with a 2-0 win. But this wasn’t a stomp. Legacy, the Brazilian squad that most fans barely expected to shake the bracket, gave them work. They made Vitality grind for that second map, and they made sure people remember their name.
Vitality were cleaner. apEX was in full control, flameZ played with confidence, and ZywOo did his usual magic without even needing to pop off. But if you just look at the scoreline—13-5 on Inferno, 13-11 on Dust2—you’d miss how many rounds Legacy clawed together through individual brilliance and risky plays. saadzin and dumau hit some nasty clutches, and latto had a couple of strong site holds that slowed Vitality’s momentum.
Inferno
Legacy’s map pick didn’t go as planned. After a tight 7-5 first half, Vitality shut it down on CT—six clean rounds in a row. apEX was all over the map, reading rotations like a book. flameZ opened up entries with zero hesitation, and mezii backed it all up with utility control that kept Legacy stuck in banana hell.
Dust2
Now this was closer. Vitality started 8-4 on T side, but Legacy fired back with 7 CT rounds. Clutches from saadzin and dumau made it interesting, and there was a short window where it looked like overtime was a real possibility. But once again, Vitality’s mid-rounds were just more polished. ropz played the lurk role perfectly, and ZywOo’s patience closed out key rounds.

Vitality fans can feel good about this. apEX showing fragging form is a good sign, and the system looked stable. But let’s give props where it’s due—Legacy earned respect today. They didn't win, but they brought fire to the stage. That Dust2 nearly flipped, and a few more rounds going their way would’ve turned this into a real brawl.
This was a "favourites win, but..." kind of series. Brazil’s new blood just told the CS2 scene they’re here to play, and if this is their baseline, a playoff appearance might not be far off.
