MOUZ Advance to the Semifinals, Knocking G2 Out of ESL Pro League Season 21
MOUZ and G2 Esports faced off in the second quarterfinal match of ESL Pro League Season 21.
Both teams, composed of top European players, delivered an evenly matched performance. However, MOUZ – fresh off their recent victory at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 – showed more energy in their movements and a more unpredictable tactical approach.
Map Ban & Picks

- G2 ban TRAIN
- MOUZ ban ANUBIS
- G2 pick INFERNO
- MOUZ pick NUKE
- G2 ban MIRAGE
- MOUZ ban DUST2
- Decider: ANCIENT
Inferno – A Close Battle with a G2 Comeback
On the first map, Inferno, MOUZ played aggressively and maintained a two-round lead throughout the mid-game. However, G2 responded with a six-round streak, securing an impressive comeback. MOUZ lost the map 11-13, proving once again that G2 - one of the Top 3 contenders - is still very much in the championship race. This game was another example of how Counter-Strike thrives on momentum shifts, where a single streak can completely flip a match.
Nuke – MOUZ Dominate from Start to Finish
Heading into Nuke, MOUZ kept up their high-energy playstyle. G2 tried to counter with fast-paced rounds, but MOUZ read their moves perfectly. This time, their domination lasted from start to finish, securing a well-earned victory to force a decider map.
Ancient – MOUZ Crush G2 with a Tactical Masterclass
The decider, Ancient, saw a standout performance from Brollan, who executed a brilliant pistol-round strategy that set the tone for the rest of the match. MOUZ took an early 8-1 lead, leaving G2 completely tilted and unable to mount any significant comeback. The confident start ensured that MOUZ closed out the game.

However, G2 is not a team that goes down without a fight – they pulled off a streak of seven successful rounds and made a strong comeback attempt, taking the lead at 11-9. But MOUZ held their ground and secured victory on the third map with a 13-11 score.
Pre-Match Comment

Spinx, who recently joined MOUZ, shared a reserved but optimistic pre-match comment, saying, “We’ll see.”
MOUZ’s confidence from their PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 victory was a clear factor in their success, but their individual plays and high-IQ strategies ultimately gave them the upper hand over G2. Now, they move on to the semifinals, looking stronger than ever.
