A player from the Danish team Astralis shared his thoughts on the difficult decision to miss the season's main event and his feelings about it.

On November 14, Nicolai Reedtz, as known "device", posted a tweet announcing his absence from the PW Shanghai Major 2024 European RMR — a qualifier for the biggest CS2 tournament. The reason for his absence is his health condition.

The player is no stranger to stress and sleep issues caused by overexertion. According to the statement, device is currently in a stable condition, with the acute symptoms behind him. However, he is unwilling to jeopardize his health further and has chosen rest over competition — “I know that stepping back to focus on my health is the right choice.”

Nicolai shares that this season has been tough, and he has been neglecting his well-being. While he regrets letting down his team and fans, he is grateful that his teammates have supported him and prioritized his health in time — “I’m very grateful that br0 has stepped in and I will be supporting the guys from home and I hope you guys will too.”

The player hopes to return at the beginning of the next season — “I expect to return in the beginning of the new season next year. For now it is time to rest before planning a sustainable return.”
