/Team G2 got a confident victory over BIG with a score of 2:0 at the start of the group stage of IEM Katowice 2023, thanks to which they reached the semi-finals of the upper bracket of their group. Here, Swani's wards will meet the winner of the Team Spirit - FaZe Clan match, which will start a little later. In turn, the German team BIG fell into the lower bracket of the group, where they will get another chance to reach the playoffs.
The opening meeting of the group stage began on the Anubis map, which became the choice of the German team. But if the starting segment was left for the players of G2, then before the changeover, BIG managed to wake up and secure the minimum lead — 8:7. After the change of sides, the Germans tried to continue the fight. However, in the very end, G2 managed to turn the tide of the match in order to break the opponent and take the lead in the series — 16:12.
Next, the teams moved to the Inferno map, which turned out to be G2's choice. Here the "samurai" began to destroy their opponent, demonstrating confident rounds in the attack. In turn, BIG could not adapt to the opponent's attack, having received a natural defeat - 12:3. After the side switch, the German team still tried to return to the fight, taking several rounds on the attack. However, G2 had enough margin to bring the matter to a victorious end — 16:8.
