karrigan explains FaZe Clan's choice of Vertigo against Bad News Eagles

karrigan, captain of FaZe Clan , explained the choice of the Vertigo map in the game against Bad News Eagles at IEM Rio Major 2022. According to the 32-year-old Dane, the team was ready for the map, but made a number of unforced errors, for which they paid with a defeat.

We prepared this map before the tournament and decided to play on all seven maps. I think Vertigo was in our pocket. We won two pistol rounds but lost the next two rounds. Obviously it's tough, but I felt like we had a good chance of winning. My team played well, but eventually lost.

In general, we gave away a lot of rounds not only on Vertigo, so it's not just one map. We needed to win skirmishes, but we failed to do so. Bad News Eagles style is just a lot of dueling. We must win these duels, right? We also had a huge advantage on Mirage, 14:9 or something like that, and then I let the opponent come back into the game.

Recall that the day before, the FaZe Clan team sensationally lost to Bad News Eagles with a score of 1:2 and left IEM Rio Major 2022. Within the championship, RobbaN's wards suffered three defeats: Cloud9 (14:16), Vitality (6:16) and Bad News Eagles (1:2).

IEM Rio Major 2022 takes place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,250,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
