There were some sensations: summing up the results of the first round of IEM Rio Major 2022 Legends Stage

The starting round of IEM Rio Major 2022 Legends Stage has ended, according to the results of which the first eight teams formed a group of leaders. Well, the eight remaining teams managed to find their defeats, thereby bringing themselves closer to the relegation zone from the Brazilian Major. First round of IEM Rio Major 2022 Legends Stage

The game day of the championship began with two rather fast matches. In the first case, Team Spirit confidently defeated Bad News Eagles (16:8) on the Ancient map, just as MOUZ unexpectedly defeated Team Liquid (16:2). Next, the Cloud9 team inflicted the first defeat on FaZe Clan (16:14), managing to give a strong-willed comeback in the second half. At the same time, the Germans from BIG started with a victory over the Sprout team (16:11).

Next, the grandees entered the battle; but if Heroic confidently dealt with the Outsiders (16:9), then Natus Vincere managed to beat Team Vitality only in overtime (25:21). In the final portion of the matches, fnatic sensationally outplayed Ninjas in Pajamas (16:13) on the Inferno map, while FURIA defeated ENCE (16:6) to the roar of their own stands.

IEM Rio Major 2022 takes place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,250,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.

  • 1st place: $500,000 + 4,000 points + tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023
