IEM Cologne 2022 continues to please us with spectacular matches. Today we will talk about the last meeting between NiP and Mouz within the third round of the lower bracket of the group stage.

MOUZ started their journey in the tournament with a loss to NaVI (1-2), as a result of which they fell into a loser, where they had a great series of wins against Heroic (2-0) and Vitality (2-1), thanks to which they advanced to the third round.

In turn, NIP won the first match against Heroic (2-0), which allowed them to go to the second round of the upper bracket, where the same “Born to Win” brought the team down to a loser (0-2). In the next match, the team won a difficult victory over G2 (2-1).

List of maps

  • MOUZ choose Vertigo
  • NIPs choose Inferno

Overpass, Dust2, Ancient, Nuke are banned, Mirage remains.

The first skirmish took place on Vertigo, and at the beginning MOUZ confidently confirmed their choice, taking the pistol round and the next 3 rounds. Opponents quickly leveled the score, after which they went on the attack. After several tight rounds, NIP took the lead and finished the first half of the map with a score of 9-6. After the change of sides, nothing much changed, the favorites took the pistol round and continued their confident dominance. As a result, the hosts of the map were able to take only 3 rounds, and the match ended with a score of 16-9 in favor of NIP. Brollan showed the best result among the winners, finishing the match with a KD ratio of 24-15.

Then the teams moved to Inferno, where NIP started very confidently, taking the pistol round and the next seven rounds. They failed to completely break the opponents, the MOUZ players gradually began to compare the advantage, and reduced the gap as much as possible. The first half of the map ended with a score of 9-6 in favor of “Ninja”. After the side switch, the most interesting part of the match began: NIP, although with difficulty, began to lose their advantage, as a result of which MOUZ managed to put the squeeze on their opponents, finishing the match with a score of 16-12. The best among the winners was torzsi, finishing the match with KD 19-16.

The decisive encounter took place on the Mirage, and contrary to expectations, it was too one-sided. NIP confidently took the pistol round and the next two rounds, and after that they completely lost the initiative. MOUZ went through the opponents without problems, finishing the first half with a score of 12-3. After the side switch, the dominance continued, and instead of an incredible decisive map, we saw an easy beating from the favorites. As a result, the victory of MOUZ 16-3. On the last map, frozen showed the best result among the winners, finishing the match with KD 18-7.

As a result of the meeting, NIP are eliminated from the tournament in 7th-8th place, and MOUZ advance to the playoffs.
