Aleksib, who is the captain of G2 Esports, shared his thoughts after the team's elimination from IEM Cologne 2022. According to the 25-year-old Finnish esportsman, the whole team is in a terrible state, as they expected to go as far as possible.

Our main goal was to finish the season on a positive note. Since IEM Dallas 2022, we have consistently improved our game. It was felt that our team was able to reach the final of the tournament in Cologne, but instead we first flew to the lower bracket, and now left the championship. This is a shock for all players and management. We'll be going on vacation soon, but before that, we'll probably have a lengthy conversation. Maybe something will happen, maybe not. Now all the players feel overwhelmed. We need to understand if there is light at the end of the tunnel and if we can get back into shape in the second part of the year.

Recall that G2 Esports took 9th-12th place at IEM Cologne 2022. During the championship, the team beat ENCE (2:0), but lost to Movistar Riders (0:2) and Ninjas in Pajamas (1:2).

IEM Cologne 2022 takes place from 5 to 17 July in Germany at the Hyatt Regency Cologne and LANXESS arena venues. As part of the championship, 24 teams from Europe, the CIS, Oceania, China, North and South America are fighting for a prize pool of $1,000,000, as well as rating points in the BLAST Premier table.
