Astralis made it to the playoffs of IEM Cologne 2022
/The Astralis team defeated Cloud9 with a score of 2:0, thanks to which they made it to the playoffs of IEM Cologne 2022. Now the Danish team will meet with FaZe Clan to compete for reaching the semi-finals of the competition directly. In turn, Cloud9 fell into the lower bracket of group B, where they will meet with Team Liquid for the right not to be relegated from the championship.
The upper bracket semi-finals of group B started on the Inferno map, which became the choice of the Danish team. But if the first rounds were left for the Cloud9 players, then closer to the equator of the half, the Danes finally played out to finish the attack side with a twofold advantage. At the same time, after the change of sides, the Russian team did not join the game, thanks to which Astralis scored a landslide victory and took the lead in the series — 16:11.
Next, the teams moved to the Mirage map, which turned out to be the choice of Cloud9. However, here the spectators again did not see an equal struggle, since the Danish team again closed the first half with a score of 10:5. Well, after the change of sides, Cloud9 failed to return to the series, thus allowing Astralis to get an unexpected victory and secure participation in the IEM Cologne 2022 playoffs — 16:8.

IEM Cologne 2022 takes place from 5 to 17 July in Germany at the Hyatt Regency Cologne and LANXESS arena venues. As part of the championship, 24 teams from Europe, the CIS, Oceania, China, North and South America are fighting for a prize pool of $1,000,000, as well as rating points in the BLAST Premier table.
