Outsiders beat BIG and advance to the group stage of IEM Cologne 2022

The BIG team failed to cope with the Outsiders and are losing 2:0 (Inferno 16:13; Dust2 16:13). The Germans from BIG do not leave the tournament, but fall into the lower bracket, where they will fight with the winner of the pair of Astralis and Complexity Gaming. The match will be for entering the group and for relegation from the championship, respectively.

Outsiders vs B.I.G.

  1. Outsiders removed Nuke
  2. BIG removed Ancient
  3. Outsiders picked Inferno
  4. BIG-picked Dust2
  5. Outsiders removed
  6. BIG removed Overpass
  7. Mirage was left over

1) The first confrontation map began with confident weapon rounds by Outsiders for the attacking side. BIG didn't play well at all, as if they weren't the same BIG that beat the FaZe Clan team in the final of the last tournament. The Outsiders managed to reach a comfortable nine rounds for the terrorists. After switching sides, BIG starts with a failed series of rounds for themselves, thus the Outsiders reach the mark of 13 rounds on their account. However, after that, the BIG team starts swinging the opponent around the map and takes a nice streak, they were clearly going to comeback and win Inferno, the opponent's pick. But no matter how hard they tried, they still made a couple of mistakes, and the Outsiders team managed to take advantage of this and finish the map in their favor. Outsiders 16:13 BIG.

2) The second map was a favorite for the Germans Dust2. However, in the attack they were not so ferocious and took few rounds. The half ends in favor of the Outsiders with a score of 9-6. After that, BIG again fails the pistol round, and then almost completely gives up the game right away. They bring their peak to a score of 6:15 not in their favor. And again they tried to return to the game and the Mirage map was clearly present in their plans. But the Outsiders were in great shape today and managed to get their last, important round, the second map in a row with a disappointing defeat for the German team. Outsiders 16:13 BIG.

The Outsiders become the third team after Team Spirit and Heroic to advance to the group stage.

BIG is on the verge of elimination from the tournament, but they are lucky, either Complexity Gaming or Astralis, who play strangely in this championship, will play against them.
