The second quarter-final of the upper bracket started on the Vertigo map, which became the choice of the Brazilian team. At the same time, the “dragons” seized the initiative on the server too quickly, having managed to convert the starting advantage into a comfortable score of 10:5. Well, after the change of sides, Team Spirit did not give up a single round to the opponent, thereby managing to take the lead in the series — 16:5.
The teams then moved on to the Dust 2 map, which turned out to be the choice of Team Spirit. But if the starting segment remained with the nominal "owners", then closer to the changeover, the Brazilian team managed to reduce the gap to a minimum. After switching sides, the teams began trading in a series of rounds until 00NATION crushed the dragon economy and tied the series at 16:14.
Everything was decided on the map Ancient, the first half of which ended in a double advantage in favor of the Brazilian team. However, after switching sides, Team Spirit managed to make a comeback, first catching up with the opponent, and then finally closing the series in their favor. As a result, the Dragons won the decisive map and made it to the group stage of IEM Cologne 2022 — 16:13.
Recall that a little earlier, the Danish team Heroic beat MOUZ with a score of 2:1 and also made it to the group stage of IEM Cologne 2022.
