Roobet Cup Review

The Roobet Cup has come to an end, which means it's time to discuss the past championship. What was special about him? Not the most expected plot twists! Many moments in the past event were unpredictable, and the coolest cappers and forecasters, along with ordinary viewers, could not understand what was happening on the stage.

Group stage

In the group stage, it began to be embarrassing that FaZe Clan, who are now considered the best team in the world, could not get out of Group A in the playoffs with a score of 2-0. What is the reason? Lost to BIG. Who would have thought that this would be repeated in the final of the tournament? But let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet. Except for this moment, in the first quartet everything went more or less predictably, just like in the case of Group B. In the third quartet, many expected to see MOUZ rather than Eternal Fire in the top 2. We also did not believe in the strength of the Turkish team and believed that they would not achieve great success here. It is difficult to call the 7th-8th line in the standings a good performance, but few even expected such a performance from the Turks. Group D was one of the most unpredictable and it consisted of more or less equal teams. Nevertheless, there were more hopes for FURIA Esports and Outsiders than for 9z Esports and forZe, but, apparently, the online format has become one of the determining factors here. As a result, FURIA and Outsiders did not reach the quarterfinals.

Playoffs

In the final stage, everything started more or less naturally and there were even some small intrigues in the form of overtime in the BIG vs Eternal Fire and forZe vs Astralis matches. Starting from the semi-finals, BIG decided to show the power of the German counter-strike. At first, they did not lose a single map in the match against Cloud9, and then they had a hot fight against FaZe Clan. Meanwhile, FaZe Clan were making a more thorny path to the grand finals and in the match against Astralis they could well have lost, which the audience began to think about even more after the first map was over. Nevertheless, the Danes managed to cope. Next up is BIG.

So, last match. FaZe Clan is the best team in the world with skilled players. They are a clear favorite, both in the opinion of experts from bookmakers, as well as spectators and bettors. The coefficient on FaZe, for a second, was equal to 1.50, which indicated a fairly high chance of winning.

And yet, no matter what anyone thinks, statistics are not a hindrance to BIG players. The team immediately took Dust 2 with a score of 16-13, and all the players from FaZe at that moment seemed to get up on the wrong foot. Poor Twistzz, who shot almost 30 frags, dragged the whole team on him. But didn't get it. The duet k1to + syrsoN also did a great job. The players made 26 and 23 frags, respectively, which, in our opinion, was a key factor in BIG's victory. FaZe were close to victory there, but, as they say, you can't bite the elbow. To the delight of the fans, karrigan and his teammates were able to grievously take Nuke in half. We have to give credit to Twistzz on this map, who performed with the highest rating and contributed a lot to the comeback attempt.

The icing on the cake is Mirage. On the third map, FaZe naturally took the first half with a score of 9-6, playing for defense. After the transition, BIG also did not give up the opportunity to show the art of beautiful and effective defense. As a result, overtime is the best way to end the grand final of any tournament. Florian Richet, aka syrsoN became the main star of this meeting. Thirty-five frags made by a German player! If we add together what rain and karrigan from FaZe shot, then this is still not enough to reach the syrsoN indicator. TabseN also kept up with his friend and shot 30 frags. SyrsoN became the MVP of this match and with his performance he was able to bring the team to victory. After the end of the championship, the players were waiting for a sweet and well-deserved prize - $150,000. Did the BIG players start a new era of the German CS:GO roster? Time will tell, but now they can safely celebrate their victory.
