The Funspark ULTI 2021 Asia Playoffs 2 has come to an end. The championship, which took place online from December 28 to January 3, eight teams from Asia competed for a prize pool of $ 25,000, as well as rating points required to qualify for the Funspark ULTI 2021 tournament. The winner of Funspark ULTI 2021 Asia Playoffs 2 was Checkmate, who beat Steel Helmet 2: 0 in the grand final.

The tournament for the future winner began with a defeat to Steel Helmet in the quarterfinals, after which Checkmate went to conquer the lower bracket. Here, the Mongolian team rather confidently outplayed NSN Gaming, Team NKT (2: 0), The Black Company (2: 1) and Team Renewal (2: 1) to get to the grand final.

In the decisive match, Checkmate quickly seized the initiative, showing confident play on the Mirage and Nuke maps, thus securing the first victory in the new season. Note that thanks to this success, the team scored 40 rating points and guaranteed participation in the upcoming Funspark ULTI 2021.

The championship will be held online from January 18 to 24. Currently, the list of participants in Funspark ULTI 2021 is as follows: BIG, K23, Extra Salt, ECSTATIC and Checkmate.
