G2, Vitality, Fiend and Movistar Riders reach the IEM Fall 2021 Europe playoffs
/The group stage of IEM Fall 2021 Europe has come to an end. At the same time, all the participants in the playoffs of the championship have been determined who will compete for the main prize. In addition, four teams have formed a Play-In bracket, following which they will compete for places from 9th to 12th.
Group A
This six was not without sensations. Chief among them is the confident performance of Copenhagen Flames, who scored 15 points in five meetings. The second participant in the playoffs from Group A was the G2 team, which defeated mousesports in the decisive match and earned 12 points.
Place in the Play-In was contested by three teams, which had to play a series of replays to decide on the strongest. As a result, BIG defeated mousesports (4: 2) and FunPlus Phoenix (4: 1) in a row, thus continuing its path in the championship in a separate grid.
Group B
The Astralis team advanced from Group B one day before the end of the group stage. However, the Danes decided to add color to the alignment of forces, defeating Sinners in the last round.
Together with the victories Heroic and Movistar Riders again had to watch the replay, this time for the places from 2nd to 4th. As a result, the Spanish team, having beaten Sinners (4: 0) and Heroic (4: 1), climbed to the second line and advanced to the playoffs. The third place was taken by the Heroic team, which in the face-to-face match turned out to be stronger than Sinners (4: 2).
Group C
In the next group, a situation could also arise in which three teams could challenge the places from 1st to 3rd. However, OG unexpectedly lost to MAD Lions, thereby eliminating from the race for a place in the playoffs.
As a result, ENCE and Vitality, who beat Sprout and Dignitas, respectively, got tickets to the IEM Fall 2021 Europe playoffs. Well, the first place remained for the ENCE team, which in face-to-face meetings turned out to be higher than the French from Vitality.
Group D
In this six, NIP also resolved all issues in advance, besides having beaten Double Poney in the final round. As a result, two teams fought for the second slot in the playoffs - Fiend and FaZe Clan, who just met each other in the last round. But here the Bulgarian team did an incredible thing, showing confident play on Mirage, thereby discarding FaZe Clan.
As a result, “Galacticos” were left to be content with only the third place and a ticket to the Play-In stage. The fate of fnatic is interesting, which lost the fifth meeting in the group stage, thereby showing complete non-competitiveness.
