The group stage of DreamHack Open September 2021 North America has ended, following which four teams formed the playoff bracket. At the same time, it's time to remember what happened in each of the two quartets.

Group A

The first group was not without sensations. And if the victory of paiN in two matches was expected in advance, then reaching the playoffs from Team One was unlikely, given the presence of Bad News Bears in the group. However, the latter showed uncertain play at a distance, having obtained only one victory over Mythic at the start of the group stage.

In the remaining meetings, Bad News Bears could not live up to expectations, first fighting against paiN, and in the final match giving two comebacks to Team One, and at the same time missing the opportunity to reach the playoffs. Note that immediately after this defeat, Jonji left the team, who left Bad News Bears at a difficult time.

With the Mythic team, everything was clear in advance, since the team was inferior to all opponents in terms of experience and game performance. Therefore, two logical defeats decided the fate of this team.

Group A table

A place Command Result Round difference Points
1 paiN 2-0 +12 6
2 Team One 2-1 +25 6
3 Bad news bears 1-2 +7 3
4 Mythic 0-2 -44 0

Group B

In the second quartet, the intrigue turned out to be a little less, not counting the sensational defeat of Extra Salt from the Brazilians from GODSENT. In turn, the Brazilian team showed a very confident game in the group, without losing a single card.

Extra Salt, despite the already mentioned defeat, still found the strength to make it to the playoffs, albeit from second place. The team has twice upset Triumph, which cannot come to its senses after last year's loss of the roster. Well, the last line was taken by the RBG team, which has traditionally been eliminated from major tournaments after being defeated by favorites.

Group B table

A place Command Result Round difference Points
1 GODSENT 2-0 +26 6
2 Extra Salt 2-1 +23 6
3 Triumph 1-2 -32 3
4 RBG 0-2 -17 0

Play-off

The four teams will begin their journey to the DreamHack Open September 2021 North America playoffs today, September 25th. In the first semi-final, paiN will face Extra Salt. Well, in the second match we will watch the Brazilian derby - GODSENT against Team One.
