What to Expect from Genshin Impact 5.7 Banners

The release of Genshin patch 5.7 means we’re getting New Genshin Banners. These banners will feature long-awaited reruns and the debut of two new characters — one of them a five-star unit closely tied to the game’s main storyline.

In this text, we’ll break down the Genshin Impact New Banners 5.7: who’s featured in each phase, which characters are worth considering, and what to expect from this patch.

Who’s on the Banners in Genshin Impact 5.7?

The long-awaited reruns are finally here! Shenhe, Mavuika, and Emilie are all returning in version 5.7 — and personally, I’ve been waiting ages for Shenhe to come back. But that’s not all — we’re also getting two brand-new characters, including the mysterious Skirk.

Phase 1 Banners

As always in a Genshin Impact update, version 5.7 will feature two banner phases. Here’s who we’ll see in Phase 1 of 5.7.

Phase 2 Banners

The second half of the banner doesn’t disappoint either, bringing back a well-loved character whose first appearance in the game left a strong impression. It’s a rerun many players have been hoping for — and now’s the perfect chance to finally add them to your roster.

These banners will go live on July 8 and remain available until July 29, just before version 5.8 launches.

The first weapon banner of 5.7 will also include Azurelight, Skirk’s signature sword. The second 5-star weapon is expected to be Shenhe’s best-in-slot option.

Of course, banners are just one part of the update. In our full blog post — Genshin Impact 5.7 Details — we break down everything you need to know about the latest version.

Optimal Team Compositions for Genshin Impact 5.7 Characters

Whenever a new banner drops, one of the first questions we ask ourselves is: do I really need to pull on this? And more importantly — will these characters actually fit into my existing teams? That’s a key factor when deciding whether to spend Primogems or skip.

In this post, I want to explore exactly that — and share my thoughts on the most effective team setups for Skirk, the new five-star Cryo character introduced in version 5.7.

Skirk Team Compositions for Genshin Impact 5.7

Based on the official information shared by HoYoverse, Skirk is shaping up to be a strong Cryo DPS. Her damage scales heavily with crit stats, and she fits well into both Freeze and Melt team comps. Below are several effective teams where Skirk can shine to her full potential.

Freeze Team: Control and Consistent Damage

Team: Skirk, Kokomi, Shenhe, KazuhaIn this setup, Skirk takes the spotlight as the main damage dealer, using frozen enemies as stationary targets. Kokomi provides reliable Hydro application and healing, Shenhe significantly buffs Cryo damage, and Kazuha offers crowd control and elemental resistance reduction. This team is versatile and especially strong against large enemy groups.

Melt Team: Maximize Critical Burst

Team: Skirk, Bennett, Xiangling, RosariaIf your goal is to deal massive damage in a short window, Melt is the way to go. Bennett boosts Skirk’s attack stats, Xiangling applies consistent Pyro for Melt triggers, and Rosaria contributes with bonus crit rate and extra Cryo damage. This rotation requires a bit more attention, but the payoff is huge. Honestly, I feel like Genshin might end one day — but Bennett will still be meta. That’s just the kind of character he is. May he live long.

Superconduct Team: Physical Damage and Auto Attacks

Team: Skirk, Fischl, Diona, Mika

This composition focuses on physical damage, activating Superconduct to reduce enemy physical resistance. Fischl ensures steady Electro application, Diona offers shielding and healing, and Mika enhances physical output while speeding up attack animations. This team works particularly well against single-target bosses and when Cryo reactions aren't viable.

Mono-Cryo Team: Pure Ice Power

Team: Skirk, Shenhe, Rosaria, Diona

A team built entirely around Cryo resonance and internal synergy. Shenhe provides powerful buffs, Rosaria supports with crit rate and extra Cryo output, and Diona keeps the team safe and stable. With this comp, Skirk can deal sustained damage without relying on external elemental reactions.

Should You Pull in Genshin Impact 5.7?

With the release of the Genshin New Banners, the question arises once again — should you pull? The answer isn’t so simple — it all depends on your playstyle, the phase of the banner, and your in-game needs. For example, if you don’t have a Cryo DPS but really want to build a Cryo-based team, then the choice is obvious — this banner is definitely for you.

If you're a fan of Mavuika and her mobility, or if you're still missing a solid Pyro DPS, then once again, this banner is worth your pulls.

As I said earlier, it all comes down to your personal preferences. Just remember — Primogems aren’t infinite (unless you’re a whale), so spend your wishes wisely. And don’t forget to claim your compensation for the Genshin Impact 5.7 Servers Maintenance — every Primogem counts and might just boost your chances of getting that five-star character. Good luck with your 50/50 pulls, and may Qiqi never show up. Safe travels, Traveler. Teyvat and its adventures are waiting for you.
