Genshin Impact 5.7 Details: Release Date, New Banners, New Quests

Genshin Impact 5.7 has finally been revealed — the patch is titled “A Space and Time for You”, and honestly, it sounds like something deeply personal. This time, the story takes us back to Natlan, where the Traveler continues the search for their sibling — but, as usual, things don’t go as planned. The Abyss Order gets involved again, and Dainsleif returns to the storyline.

The most exciting part? Skirk is finally becoming a playable character. Yep, the very same one fans have been waiting for. She’ll be introduced as a new 5-star character and will also get her own Story Quest — looks like things are about to get serious.

Below, I’ve put together the release date, banner details (who’s new and who’s returning), and the list of upcoming events in version 5.7. Let’s dive in.

Genshin Impact 5.7 Release Date and Time

Genshin Impact 5.7 is set to release on Wednesday, June 18. As usual, there will be standard maintenance before launch, and the patch should go live at around 5:00 AM CEST. Due to time zone differences, players in the US will get access a day earlier — on Tuesday, June 17 at 8:00 PM PT.

For other time zones, the Genshin Impact 5.7 release date and time is:

  • West Coast US: Tuesday 17th June, 8pm (PT)
  • Central US: Tuesday 17th June, 10pm (CT)
  • East Coast US: Tuesday 17th June, 11pm (ET)
  • Japan: Wednesday 18th June, 12pm (JST)
  • Australia: Wednesday 18th June, 1pm (AET)
  • UK: Wednesday 18th June, 4am (BST)
  • Europe: Wednesday 18th June, 5am (CEST)

Don’t forget — HoYoverse will send out compensation rewards once the servers go down for maintenance. These are time-limited, so make sure to grab them in time. If you’re wondering when exactly the downtime begins, our Genshin Impact 5.7 Servers Maintenance Start & End Time blog has all the details.

Genshin Impact 5.7 Banners

Genshin Impact 5.7 brings us two new characters: the 5-Star Skirk and the 4-Star Dahlia. And finally — reruns! Shenhe, Mavuika, and Emilie are all coming back in the banners. I don’t know about you, but I’ve personally been waiting for Shenhe to return for a long time.

In the first phase, we’re getting a brand-new Cryo sword user — Skirk (5-star), featured on her Void Star’s Advent banner. Alongside her, Shenhe (5-star, Cryo, polearm) returns in the The Transcendent One Returns banner.

Both banners will also feature Dahlia — a new 4-star Hydro sword user with an increased drop rate.

These banners will run in parallel, starting on June 18 and ending on July 8.

In the second phase, we’ll see the return of:

  • Emilie (5-star, Dendro, polearm) — featured on the Ambrosial Essence banner

These banners will go live on July 8 and run until July 29, just a day before the expected launch of version 5.8.

All 5.7 Banner Characters:

  • Skirk — new 5-star Cryo sword user (Phase 1)
  • Shenhe — returning 5-star Cryo polearm user (Phase 1)
  • Dahlia — new 4-star Hydro sword user with increased drop rate (Phase 1)
  • Mavuika — returning 5-star Pyro claymore user (Phase 2)
  • Emilie — returning 5-star Dendro polearm user (Phase 2)

Also, in the first weapon banner of 5.7, we’ll get Skirk’s signature sword — Azurelight. The second featured weapon is likely to be Shenhe’s main — classic setup.

Genshin Impact 5.7 Events

Genshin Impact 5.7 is bringing us a total of six different events — some brand-new, some making a return — along with a few nice quality-of-life changes for mobile players (and not just them). Let’s take a closer look at what’s coming:

  • A new Archon Quest set in Natlan that continues the Twins' story.
  • Skirk Story Quest (Crystallina Chapter: Act 1).
  • New Stygian Onslaught permanent event.
  • New Envisaged Echoes challenges.
  • Overflowing Abundance returns at the end of 5.7.
  • Travelers' Tales also makes a return.
  • TCG update - New cards for Mavuika, Citlali and Chasca.
  • Mobile players can now choose to download a Basic version which takes up less space.
  • Other optimisations to Map Interface, Adventurer Handbook and Spiral Abyss.

In addition to this content, we're getting five events during 5.7:

Event
Description
Battle of Imagined Arrays
Return to Sumeru, where the Akademiya has created a simulated adventure in the form of a board game. Assemble a team, upgrade skills, choose paths, and defeat enemies. Includes a fruit-collecting mini-game with Paimon. Rewards include Primogems and the chance to invite Sethos.
Fearsome Ferocious Firepower
Help an inventor from Fontaine test his upgraded turret by clearing out monsters in a long-abandoned ruin.
Reminiscent Regimen: Frenzy
A co-op event featuring themed challenges. Each stage has unique objectives, so selecting the right characters is important. Playing with others makes it easier.
Stygian Onslaught
A new permanent combat mode focused on farming Artifacts. Each update includes a rotation of three bosses and six difficulty levels. Co-op is supported. Rewards include Artifacts and Primogems.
Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter
The next chapter of the Travelers’ Tales event. In version 5.7, players can encounter Thoma, Kaeya, Neuvillette, Dori, and Sayu in the overworld. The devs are working on making this event permanent.

I’m especially intrigued by Battle of Imagined Arrays — I honestly think it might end up being one of the most creative and fun events we’ve ever had.

Genshin Impact 5.7: more rewards — is that a good thing?

If we look at the recent patch trends, it’s clear that the developers are putting more and more effort into diversifying the gameplay to keep players engaged. In terms of the main story, we’re not seeing any huge leaps — just small pieces of the bigger picture that get sprinkled into each update. Whether that’s good or bad is up to you.

But personally, I really enjoy the fact that we’re getting tons of rewards and fun mini-games, along with attempts to expand on the stories of characters we meet along the way. It adds depth, keeps us emotionally connected to the world of Genshin Impact, and makes it harder to forget older characters by gradually revealing more of their inner world.
