Top 3 Teams at LoL Worlds 2021
Bogdan LashchenkoWith the 2021 League of Legends World Cup starting this month, fans are gearing up for the biggest tournament of the year. We have prepared our ranking of the best LoL teams to compete at Worlds.
In this ranking, we'll take a look at the most dominant LoL teams at Worlds 2021. We've ranked their most formidable squads that will surely compete to win the tournament. People placing bets on eSports matches on LoL betting sites can choose their favorite. Much has changed in League of Legends this year, and power rating is very difficult to compile today.
However, after some in-depth analysis, we came to what we believe is an accurate representation of the strengths between all teams.
3. DWG KIA
While there is controversy over other places in the strength rankings, these are without a doubt the top three teams as well as potential winners of the 2021 World Cup.
The 3rd place team on our list is the first seed of the LCK region, DWG Kia. After a somewhat “strange” year for them, with ups and downs, they were able to regain their shape in the lead up to the Worlds. As usual, their duo in the middle of the jungle is central to their success: ShowMaker and Canyon are still top tier players with insane potential.
The rest of the team also improved over the course of the year: Ghost and BeryL are more consistent compared to MSI, and Khan is back in his original form. It will be important to see how they handle teams from LoL LPL schedule, as this will be very indicative of the end result. However, expect DWG to make it to at least the semi-finals and possibly the finals.
2.EDG (EDWARD GAMING)
The top two teams in our rankings are from the LPL. Their final streak in the summer playoffs is definitely worth watching as it clearly shows the strengths of these two teams.
EDG, despite winning the final, falls below 1st place. Why? Well, while we can't deny their great performance, we still have a lot to see from them with this roster on the international stage. There is certainly potential, but we also think the LPL final might have ended differently if it weren't for one game (watch game 4) that allowed them to become champions.
It can be said that the two teams are equally suited to each other, but EDG is one level below due to the lack of international experience in recent years.
1. FUNPLUS PHOENIX
The 2019 world champions look hungrier than ever and their level of play has reached an even higher level: Doinb shows that age doesn't matter in the League, Nuguri respects the enemy jungler, and everyone else is just very consistent.
In conclusion, expect FPX to make it through the group stage as their number 1 seed and book their ticket to the World Cup Final. If they stumble before the final, then the team that beat them could potentially become world champions.
