Schedule of summer gaming launches in 2023: What The International is interesting to see

Summer in the gaming industry is traditionally considered to be the time of big announcements and flashy presentations, where various publishers and game developers compete to show players trailers of new games and gameplay videos of upcoming projects. It's a chance for players to dive into the fabulous atmosphere of video games and figure out what they'll be playing this year and next.

Here's the schedule with all the big game launches this summer.

Summer Game Fest Opening Showcase - 8th June, 22:00 EEST

The annual big summer showcase from Geoff Keighley, Canadian video game journalist and presenter, designed to replace E3. Fans will be treated to a slew of high-profile announcements from a variety of publishers at the opening ceremony. Of note will be Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay footage, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty trailer, additions to the original game, Alan Wake 2 gameplay and much more.

Devolver Digital - June 9, 01:00 EEST

Also performing at SGF will be Devolver Digital. The indie publisher in its sarcastic way will be showing some small but striking projects. Devolver Digital boasts the most original and creative show from year to year.

Future Games Show - 10th June, 20:00 EEST

The annual presentation from news publication GamesRadar. The show runs for more than 70 minutes and is hosted by Yuri Lowenthal and Laura Bailey, well-known voice actors in the gaming industry.

Xbox Games Showcase + Starfield Direct - 11 June, 8pm EEST

One of the biggest events this summer. Microsoft will reveal and showcase its upcoming projects. According to statements from the company, we're in for a lot of gameplay footage. We're expecting lots of games for Xbox and PC, as well as a refill of the Xbox Game Pass subscription. There will also be a separate showing of Starfield, the highly anticipated game from Bethesda, where they will show even more gameplay, as well as highlight a number of aspects of the upcoming project in great detail.

PC Gaming Show - June 11, 23:00 EEST

PC Gamer magazine will be hosting the PC Gaming Show. From the name it can be guessed that mostly PC games will be shown at the show. There will be a total of 55 games on show.

Ubisoft Forward - 12th of June, 20:00 EEST

On 12 June we will be hosting Ubisoft Forward, a big event from French publisher Ubisoft. At least Skull & Bones, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin's Creed Mirage and The Crew Motorfest are in the programme. There could also be surprises.

THQ Nordic Showcase - August 11, 22:00 EEST

The European publisher announced its show back in spring, but has already announced that the THQ Nordic event will showcase both news about already announced projects as well as world premieres of new games. We should expect Alone in the Dark, Outcast 2 and Trine 5.

Quakecon - August 10-13

After a long break Quakecon is back. Big event from id Software will take place for the first time since 2019. The number of visitors will be reduced compared to previous years. Exhibition activities will also be streamed on Twitch.

Opening Night Live - 22 August, 21:00 EEST

Geoff Keighley will also be hosting an opening event at Gamescom called Opening Night Live. All video game fans will be able to get all sorts of announcements and news about the titles that have already been announced.

Gamescom - August 23-27

The legendary Gamescom in Cologne will take place from August 23rd to 27th. There will be plenty of opportunities to get to the booths of various developers and publishers and try out new games at the event. For the first time, there will be a booth with games from Ukrainian developers.
