Sentinels eliminated from EWC 2025 after defeat to Paper Rex
North American squad Sentinels have concluded their run at the Esports World Cup 2025 in Valorant. In a tense quarterfinal matchup, they were swept 0:2 by Asian favorites Paper Rex, despite a promising performance during the group stage.
The opening map, Icebox, was a complete rout, with Paper Rex crushing Sentinels 13:3. PRX came out swinging, setting the tempo and leaving no room for recovery.
Map two, Sunset, was more competitive, but PRX maintained control to close it out 13:9, securing a clean 2–0 victory and sending Sentinels home.
Sentinels began their group stage with a narrow loss to BBL Esports (12:14, Bo1), but bounced back with strong performances:
- Defeated Xi Lai Gaming – 2:1
- Dominated DRX – 2:0
These wins earned them a spot in the playoffs, but when it came to the elimination rounds, Sentinels had no answer for PRX’s relentless playstyle.
