Riyadh, July 9, 2025 — In a tense elimination match at the Esports World Cup 2025, Chinese squad EDward Gaming delivered a comeback win over 100 Thieves, taking the series 2–1 and ending the North American team’s tournament run in Riyadh.
The Best-of-3 showdown featured back-and-forth action across three maps:
- Haven — 100 Thieves opened strong, showcasing clean executes and map control to secure a 13–8 win.
- Sunset — EDward Gaming responded with sharp mid-round adjustments and punished over-aggression, taking it 13–7.
- Ascent (Decider) — In a closely contested final map, EDG edged out their opponents 13–10, sealing the series and survival.
Standout Players
The hero for EDward Gaming was ZmjjKK on Jett, lighting up the scoreboard with 26 kills and an impressive 201 ADR. His dominance in key rounds helped shift momentum and secure the deciding map.
For 100 Thieves, Asuna put up a solid showing on KAY/O with an 18/16/14 performance on Ascent, while Cryocells on Jett contributed 19 kills despite the team falling short in the end.

After losing Haven, EDG showed mental resilience and composure. Their teamplay tightened on Sunset, with better post-plant control and confident retakes. On Ascent, their adaptation to 100T’s set plays paid off, with ZmjjKK’s entries and clutches making the difference.
