American specialists Chet and sgares, who are the coaches of OpTic Gaming and 100 Thieves, respectively, are returning to the VALORANT Champions 2022 stage after quarantine. Both specialists have reportedly tested negative for coronavirus, leaving them ready to return to their teams at the ongoing event in Istanbul.

Chet, head coach of OpTic Gaming, has officially been released from quarantine at VALORANT Champions 2022 following a negative result received today, September 7th. The 25-year-old American specialist should be expected to be on stage with the rest of the team in time for the playoffs, which is scheduled for September 9th.

sgares, the coach of 100 Thieves, has also tested negative and will join his team on stage for the group stage decider against Fnatic on September 8th.

Recall that in just a couple of days of the start of the group stage of the championship, Chet confirmed that he had a coronavirus confirmed after the organizers announced an outbreak of the disease in the camp of OpTic Gaming. The specialist himself continued to be tested for a whole week, until he eventually recovered.

As for 100 Thieves, four cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the team at once. At the same time, the North American team played the first match in the group in isolation, but managed to return to the stage for the game against DRX. And yet, sgares was isolated from the rest of the team throughout the group stage, until he confirmed his recovery from the coronavirus.

It is noteworthy that the problems with the organization of VALORANT Champions 2022 are not limited to one coronavirus. A little earlier, Riot Games issued an official statement announcing the postponement of the duel between the FunPlus Phoenix and XSET teams due to player complaints about their health. Previously, d4v41 (Paper Rex) and ardiis (FunPlus Phoenix) were hospitalized, EDward Gaming players contracted the coronavirus, Victor showed signs of food poisoning. At the same time, Boaster, mini (coach) and Enzo (all Fnatic) complained about feeling unwell on different days.

VALORANT Champions 2022 takes place from August 31 to September 18 in Istanbul at the Volkswagen Arena. As part of the championship, sixteen teams from Europe, North and South America, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, China and Southeast Asia are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,000,000.
