How was the group stage of Red Bull Home Ground # 2

In just a day, the group stage of Red Bull Home Ground # 2 ended, following which eight teams advanced to the playoffs, where they will compete for the main prize. We tell you who surprised and who disappointed at the end of the group stage of the championship.

Group A

  • Gambit Esports.
  • SuperMassive Blaze.
  • LDN UTD.
  • Ninjas in Pajamas.

It seemed that the Russian band Gambit would become the undisputed favorite of the first quartet. However, already in the second round, the team lost to LDN UTD, thereby finding themselves in the balance of relegation. In turn, the Lithuanian team, which won three confident victories and received the top seed in the quarterfinals, was a big surprise. The failure of Ninjas in Pajamas is quite expected, which after the news from the camp of the organization decided to give up and finish the story as soon as possible. The SuperMassive Blaze team found itself in a similar situation, which, against the background of a streamer scandal and the possible dissolution of half of the roster, completely lost itself.

Group B

  • Acend.
  • TENSTAR.
  • Team BDS.
  • Natus Vincere.

There were no surprises in the second quartet, as Acend, being the undisputed favorite, scored three easy wins and advanced to the playoffs. Following the leader was the TENSTAR team, which found the strength to cope with Team BDS and Natus Vincere in order to recapture the second ticket to the quarterfinals of Red Bull Home Ground # 2.

Group C

  • Giants Gaming.
  • Fnatic.
  • FunPlus Phoenix.
  • Anubis Gaming.

The real cut happened in the third quartet, where Fnatic, FunPlus Phoenix and Giants Gaming were simultaneously fighting for a place in the playoffs. It is clear that the Anubis Gaming team did not fit into this relationship, which, as expected, lost in all three games and left the championship with the worst round difference. Nevertheless, Giants Gaming quickly realized their right to get to the quarterfinals, which went over the heads of their opponents, having issued three defeats. At the same time, the second ticket went to the Fnatic team, which outplayed FunPlus Phoenix in the first round.

Group D

  • Team Liquid.
  • G2 Esports.
  • BIG.
  • Futbolist.

In the last group there was a sensation. Many believed in the prospects of G2 Esports, until the team itself trampled all hopes in the mud, losing to BIG and Futbolist in the first two rounds. No less interesting is the fate of the Turkish team, which, after defeating G2 Esports, believed in themselves, simultaneously beating BIG and getting a place in the playoffs. Well, Team Liquid, in their usual manner, has issued three crushing victories, having received a high seed in the quarterfinals.
