End of an Era: Los Ratones Officially Disband
The esports organization Los Ratones is ending its operations. This was announced by the team's founder and owner, Marc "Caedrel" Lamont, in an official video statement on the club's YouTube channel. In his statement, he confirmed that the project, which united streaming stars and professional scene veterans, has come to an end.
The team was founded in November 2024 and immediately attracted the community's attention with its unique concept. Los Ratones positioned themselves as a collective capable of combining media activity with high sporting results. Their path began with dominance in the NLC (Northern League of Legends Championship), where they quickly secured their status as regional leaders.
In their short period of existence, "The Rats" achieved phenomenal success on the European tier-2 scene. In 2025, the team completed the "Golden Road" in their region, winning all three NLC splits (Winter, Spring, Summer). Moreover, they carried this success to the international stage, becoming EMEA Masters champions in the Winter and Spring 2025 seasons, and also securing 3rd-4th place in Summer. Their playstyle, often unconventional and aggressive, became a calling card that allowed them to outplay even the most disciplined LEC academies.
The Los Ratones roster remained unchanged and became one of the most recognizable in ERL history. It included players whose names are well known to every League of Legends fan:
- Top: Simon " Thebausffs " Hofverberg - a famous streamer who proved the effectiveness of his unique style on the pro scene.
- Jungle: Veljko " Velja " Čamdžić - a young talent who became the team's connecting link.
- Mid: Tim " Nemesis " Lipovšek - a former Fnatic star who returned to competitive play.
- ADC: Juš " Crownie " Marušič - an experienced carry who competed at the highest level in the LEC.
- Support: Carl Martin Erik " Rekkles " Larsson - a legend of the European scene who concluded another stage of his career in this team.
The squad was coached by Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi.
The history of Los Ratones officially ends today, February 12, 2026. Their final campaign took place at the LEC Versus 2026, where they competed as an invited team. While they narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing in 9th place, their performance gifted fans with unforgettable emotions. The team leaves behind a legacy as one of the most successful media-esports projects, proving that content creators and veterans can build championship rosters.
