DRX Dominate DN Freecs with a Clean 2–0 Sweep — LCK 2025 Round 3–5
The first match of the day — and the first match of the week — took place in the Rise Group between DRX and DN Freecs. DRX entered the series in fourth place, while Freecs held the fifth and final spot in the group.
Game 1 Picks:
- DRX: Aurora, Xin Zhao, Galio, Lucian, Braum
- Freecs: Rumble, Nocturn, Oriana, Jhin, Alistar
Game 2 Picks:
- DRX: Ambessa, Pantheon, Ryze, Sivir, Leona
- Freecs: Sion, Wukong, Taliyah, Kai`Sa, Rell
Game 1The first game started off slowly, with neither team playing aggressively in lane. However, DRX managed to gain the early lead. Their Lucian and Braum bot lane proved to be stronger, allowing Lucian to farm more freely — especially after securing First Blood, which gave DRX’s ADC even more of an advantage. DRX also demonstrated excellent macro play throughout the game, rotating across the map and pressuring lanes at the right moments. This allowed them to take jungle objectives uncontested. DN Freecs tried to respond by picking off champions, but DRX’s superior coordination and macro decisions led to a clean victory. 1–0 DRX.
Game 2The second game was more competitive. DRX adjusted their tempo and focused early pressure on DN Freecs’ mid laner. In response, Freecs played well around dragon timings, securing early objectives and building a slight lead. Starting from the 25-minute mark, teamfights began to break out frequently, with Freecs looking strong at first. However, they failed to control Sivir, allowing her to farm up and scale. Once DRX hit the late game with their comp fully online, they dominated the fights. DN Freecs couldn’t respond, and DRX secured two Barons to close out the game. A confident 2–0 win for DRX.
DRX’s top laner Rich was named MVP of the series for his standout performance, posting a 4/2/7 on Aurora and a flawless 4/0/8 on Ambessa across the two games.
This win marks DRX’s 9th victory of the season, bringing their record to 9–18. As for DN Freecs, this 24th loss effectively ends their hopes of qualifying for the Play-In tournament.
