T1 Pull Off Incredible Comeback Against HLE — LCK 2025 Round 3–5
The second match of the day turned out to be one of the most thrilling series in recent memory. It was a Legend Group clash between Hanwha Life Esports and T1 — the second and third place teams in the group.
Game 1 Picks:
- Hanwha Life Esports: Jax, Xin Zhao, Galio, Varus, Rell
- T1: Ambessa, Wukong, Oriana, Sivir, Bardl
Game 2 Picks:
- Hanwha Life Esports: Rumble, Maokai, Yone, Corki, Blitzcrank
- T1: Yorik, Trundle, Annie, Lucian, Braum
The first game was incredibly engaging in terms of execution and priority management. HLE started aggressively, grouping up early and focusing on kills. Meanwhile, T1 carefully tracked enemy movements and focused on towers and map objectives. Despite falling slightly behind in kills, they maintained a gold lead thanks to smart macro play. As the game transitioned into mid-game, Bard and Ambessa played a crucial role — enabling clean teamfights, picking off key targets, initiating engages, and controlling map movement. T1 took the first win, going up 1–0.
The second game was absolutely wild — packed with comebacks from both sides. T1 started strong, maintaining solid control over the map and objectives. But everything shifted when they overcommitted at the Atahan fight, resulting in a full team wipe. Moments later, they lost vision control around Baron and handed it over to Hanwha Life Esports. At that point, it looked like HLE were on track to win — until Yone dove too deep into T1’s base, causing chaos and a breakdown in their formation. HLE lost the fight, and after one more failed engage, T1 seized the moment and rushed down the base. A stunning comeback sealed the 2–0 series win for T1.
T1’s top laner Doran earned MVP honors for his strong impact throughout the series, finishing 1/5/4 on Ambessa, 0/4/9, and 6/3/0 on Yorick across the three games.
This incredible comeback brings T1’s record to 18–8, while HLE now sit at 18–7 — putting T1 just one step away from securing second place in the group.
