Gen.G Maintain Dominance with 2–0 Win Over NS RedForce — LCK 2025 Round 3–5
The second match of the day took place in the Legend Group between the top-ranked team and the one at the bottom of the standings — Gen.G Esports vs Nongshim RedForce. While Gen.G were clear favorites, having already secured their spot in the Playoffs and qualified for Worlds 2025, there was a possibility they might come into the match a bit more relaxed.
Game 1 Picks:
- Nongshim RedForce: Rumble, Wukong, Galio, Ezreal, Leona
- Gen.G Esports: Gwen, Xin Zhao, Annie, Corki, Neeko
Game 2 Picks:
- Nongshim RedForce: Ambessa, Skarner, Zeri, Shen
- Gen.G Esports: Yorik, Pantheon, Aurora, Sivir, Rell
From the very first minutes, Gen.G Esports imposed their style of play by securing First Blood and steadily building their lead. Their macro gameplay was clearly superior to NS, showcasing strong objective control and overall map dominance. Through coordinated movement and constant pressure, Gen.G were able to secure solo kills and deny Nongshim RedForce any room to breathe. This slow and calculated approach allowed them to close out Game 1 comfortably before the 30-minute mark, finishing with a 23–9 scoreline.
Game 2 was even more one-sided, though Shen support made for an interesting pick. The idea had merit, and early on, despite giving up First Blood, NS showed signs of aggression and managed to pressure Gen.G. However, after the 10-minute mark, Sivir and Pantheon began scaling into their core items, allowing Gen.G to take control of the game. They started pushing down towers and securing objectives. NS tried to respond but failed to make anything work. After taking Baron at the 25-minute mark, Gen.G executed a final fight in NS’s base and ended the series with a clean 2–0 victory.
The MVP of the match was Gen.G’s jungler, Canyon, who delivered an outstanding performance on both maps — finishing 5/2/13 on Xin Zhao and 5/2/12 on Pantheon.
This marks the 21st win of the season for Gen.G Esports, with only a single loss to their name. Meanwhile, Nongshim RedForce drop further in the standings with a 10–12 record.
