The first League of Legends match at EWC 2025 ends with HLE defeating CTBC Flying Oysters

EWC 2025 for League of Legends kicked off with an Upper Bracket Group Stage match between CTBC Flying Oysters and Hanwha Life Esports. The match was played in a Bo1 format, so it could have gone either way.

CTBC Flying Oysters managed a strong start thanks to their aggressive play and some small mistakes from HLE. Unfortunately for them, their over-aggression ended up hurting them, while HLE’s quick adaptation let them turn the game in their favor. The match ended with an HLE victory at 22:8.

With this win, HLE advance to the Upper Bracket Final, where they will face the winner of MKOI vs GAM Esports. CTBC Flying Oysters drop to the Lower Bracket, where they will play an elimination match against the loser of that same pair.

Viper and Delight stood out in this match for their excellent bot lane performance, which helped secure the win. Viper finished with a score of 6/0/11, while Delight ended 0/1/20.
