LCK officially secures fourth slot for Worlds 2025
At the ongoing Mid-Season Invitational 2025 (MSI), the Korean region LCK has already guaranteed itself at least second place in the final regional ranking. This became possible after two Korean teams — Gen.G and T1 — advanced to the Upper Bracket Final of MSI 2025.
Thanks to this result, LCK has confirmed its maximum possible allocation — 4 slots for the League of Legends World Championship 202 5. Worlds 2025 will feature a total of 17 participants. The tournament is scheduled to take place in the fall — approximately from October 3 to November 16.
In addition, the MSI winner will earn a separate direct invite to Worlds 2025. This spot does not “take away” from any region’s allocation but is added as an individual qualification for the MSI champion. If Gen.G or T1 win the tournament, they will be guaranteed a place at Worlds.
The full slot distribution for Worlds 2025 is already known:
- 1 slot — MSI Champion (guaranteed invite)
- 4 slots — LCK
- 4 slots — LPL
- 3 slots — LEC
- 3 slots — LCP
- 2 slots — LTA (split into North, South, and Regional Finals)
Thus, the Korean region has now officially locked in four places at Worlds 2025 — the maximum allowed for any region this year.
