T1 retire as head coach ahead of Worlds 2022

South Korean esports organization T1, known for its League of Legends and Dota 2 rosters, has issued a press release announcing that Choi 'Polt' Seong-hun is no longer the head coach of the LoL team.

At the same time, Polt remains in the position of general manager of the club. The specialist became head coach on December 2 last year. During his mentorship, T1 were able to become champions of the LCK 2022 Spring and LCK 2022 Spring Playoffs. The team also won silver medals at MSI 2022, LCK 2022 Summer and LCK 2022 Summer Playoffs. T1 were able to earn a total of $196,007.39.

Bae 'Bengi' Seong-woong joins the team as interim head coach. Bengi has previously coached T1 Challengers and SK Telecom T1, which means that the specialist has experience in the structure of the organization. These changes were made in preparation for the League of Legends World Championship, Worlds 2022.

Recall that the 2022 World Championship will be held from September 29 to November 5 of this year. The venue for Worlds 2022 will be Mexico and the United States. In the main stage, 16 teams will compete for a $2,225,000 prize pool and the world title.
