Worlds 2022 organizers have revealed the start date of the championship

Riot Games has revealed the start date for the Worlds 2022 championship - the tournament will begin on September 29th. In addition, the organizers revealed the seeding of the championship participants, having determined a slot from the LCL for another team from the LEC.

Detailed Worlds 2022 schedule

• Preliminary Stage: September 29 - October 4, Arena Esports Stadium at Artz Pedregal, Mexico City (Mexico).
• Group Stage: October 7-10 and October 13-16, Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden, New York (USA).
• Quarterfinals: October 20-23, Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden, New York (USA).
• Semifinals: October 29-30, State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
• Grand Final: November 5, Chase Center, San Francisco (California, USA).

The championship will begin with a preliminary stage, in which 12 out of 24 teams will take part:

• China (LPL) is the team that took 4th place in the split.
• South Korea (LCK) is the team that finished 4th in the split.
• Europe (LEC) - teams that took 3rd and 4th places in the split.
• North America (LCS) is the team that finished 3rd in the split.
• Southeast Asia (PCS) is the team that took 2nd place in the split.
• Vietnam (VCS) is the team that took 2nd place in the split.
• Brazil (CBLOL) - Team 1st in Split
• Japan (LJL) – team that finished 1st in the split
• Latin America (LLA) - 1st place team in the split
• Oceania (LCO) - the team that took 1st place in the split.
• Turkey (TCL) is the team that took 1st place in the split.

The remaining teams automatically advance to the group stage:

• China (LPL) - teams that took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the split.
• Korea (LCK) - teams that took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the split.
• Europe (LEC) - teams that took 1st and 2nd places in the split.
• North America (LCS) - teams that took 1st and 2nd places in the split.
• South East Asia (PCS) - the team that took 1st place in the split.
• Vietnam (VCS) is the team that took 1st place in the split.

Worlds 2022 will take place from September 29 to November 5 in Mexico and the United States. The Play-In stage will take place from September 29 to October 4 at the Arena Esports Stadium in Mexico City, and the group stage will take place from October 7-10 and October 13-16 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. As part of the championship, 24 teams from all over the world (excluding the CIS) will compete for a total prize pool of $2,225,000.
